Self-Portrait by Donna Q.
Info from Donna on the workshop:

This project can be done with a flair for realism or with a flair for your alter-ego.  Since it is not going to be photo realism, I suggest the fun of the alter-ego.  Rather than choosing beige batik for the face and brown, black, blond or grey for the hair, chose colors that you love or reflect a part of your personality.  The only rule is to have fun and use your imaginations.

Self Portrait Supply list for the workshop on May 17th.
All done in batiks
2 fat quarters for background
1 piece minimum 8 x 10 inches for face
1 piece minimum 12 x 12 inches for hair
A few larger scraps about the size of your hands or so
Small scraps for facial features

Embellishment objects like buttons, charms, scrabble letters, etc.
(What do you like to do? Quilt, garden, grandkids, horses, dogs, books, cook, sew, swim ...)
18 x 22" fusible batting
Steam-a-seam 2 Light or Wonder-Under for fusible applique;
enough to fuse all the features.

Sewing machine - preferably one with fancy stitches
Scissors
4 or 5 different colors of thread
      matching and contrasting
A sense of humor and fun imagination
Optional: Free motion foot

We will also need a few irons and ironing boards or ironing pads
   and plug strips.
